2023 Q2 Impact Awards

Wow!!! What an amazing event we had a few weeks back!

As is always the case - we got to hear from some amazing organizations. But for anyone who attended in-person or virtually (as shown by how close the vote was) these charities were ALL incredible.

Here's the bullet summary of what's below:

  • Presenting orgs and winners

  • Follow-on opportunities to partner

  • Impact award from Lot 318

  • 100 CTC Denver launching 2024!!

It was such an honor to have Erik Rees from NEGU (Jessie Rees Foundation) back for the second time, and what a blessing to be able to support them AGAIN, as they won the majority grant!!

And the teams from OC United and Vocational Visions both shared about the amazing work they are doing. In fact, I have follow up items from each charity for specific ways we can support them beyond the grant.

NEGU:

In addition to the "House of Hope" (for which our grant will help finish the back yard!!) - anyone has second homes/vacation homes that often sit vacant, Erik and his team are able to use those to bless families affected by pediatric cancer.

If you're open to gifting a stay at your home in order to bless a family, please feel free to reach out and connect with Erik: erik@jessie.org

OC United:

They are in need of volunteers for served days. So this would be an incredible way to engage your teams and bring them into the impact that we are having with 100 CTC, and build a bond around serving others.

You can reach out to Amy Gaw for opportunities to get connected: amyg@ocunitedtogether.org

Vocational Visions:

They are in need of new volunteer sites and opportunities for their participants to get hours.

If you feel that your office could be a good place to help adults with disabilities develop the skills needed to gain meaningful, life-giving work opportunities, you can reach out to Tim here: tchervenak@vocationalvisions.org

Lot 318 (winner from last quarter):

They closed on their building in Placentia!!! It was SO cool to see the things they've already begun to do!! What an awesome chance to support a community in such a tangible way. So grateful for that.

They have some specific needs with regards to renovating the building they purchased. I may tap some of you individually, but for those of you that are in the construction industry, perhaps there's a way we can give some more love - whether that be supplies, donating services, or asking vendors to donate/support.

You can reach out directly to Letty here: letty@lot318.com

And last but definitely not least.... 100 Companies That Care Denver is launching next year! Jeff Shepherd has agreed to be our partner in the Denver market, and he even came to attend the event in OC to get a better feel and understanding for the community and our vision.

I've copied a message from Jeff below, as well as his contact info. But the big ask is if you are connected to businesses in the Denver area, PLEASE make a connection to Jeff, as we want him to have a ton of momentum going into the launch of that community. He's copied on this email, as well as his contact is below.

Hello 100 Companies That Care Orange County members!

I am Jeff Shepard with Hughes Marino in Denver (formerly in OC) and I will be replicating and launching 100 Companies That Care Denver in January 2024. I am super excited to create another chapter of this incredible community and am actively seeking great companies to become members in Denver. Can you possibly help me? Do you know any business/company leaders in Denver to whom you could provide a warm introduction and note of support for 100 CTC so that I may easily speak with them about joining 100 CTC Denver? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated and such a blessing!

Here is my full contact information. Thank you!

Stay awesome,
